Right behind the Famous Brick Oven, The Town of Beech Mountain offers the only municipal sledding hill in the southeast. Designed for kids ages 12 and under, parents or other responsible adults are allowed on sleds with preschoolers. Natural snow is enhanced by a snow gun when needed, so there’s plenty of good sledding to go around. There’s no charge to use the hill! The Town Sledding Hill requires the use of plastic sleds.
The Beech Mountain Bark Park is a fenced in, off-leash dog park where well-behaved dogs can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying people, property or wildlife. This park is a beautiful, well-maintained space open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park’s rules and restrictions. The park was built and is maintained as a community project, designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike.
The premier winter ski resort in North Carolina for skiing, snowboarding, and more. In summer, the slopes convert to downhill mountain biking trails and offer disc golf, yoga, and a summer concert series.
With an elevation of 4,280 feet, Beech Mountain Club’s extensive amenities are found atop the highest incorporated town east of the Mississippi. Located in the heart of North Carolina’s High Country, the Club offers spectacular long-range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
The Buckeye Recreation Center is a 22,500-square-foot facility offering recreational opportunities including indoor basketball, volleyball, and tennis; a fitness room; a conference room with catering area, and a playroom built specifically for children under 12. It’s perfect for getting that much-needed cardio exercise, or for exercising your family’s competitive nature. The Recreation Department offers seasonal guided hikes, mountain bike lessons, canoeing and fishing, a 7-week summer camp, fitness classes and personal training and even camping.

The Beech Bark Park Playground is a new addition to the existing Bark Park just behind Famous Brick Oven. This awesome playground offers kids a chance to swing, slide, climb, and play on with a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. This playground is complete with a walking path, a covered picnic table, and bathrooms nearby.
